dreaming....

found here

i've been dreaming of hopping on my bike and just taking off. it seems that this isn't so easy with a tiny one. by the time the mr. gets home it is dark. besides, it snowed today. ick. so, for now i will dream of sun shiney days, riding off into the sunset.

here i go once again...

when i initially started this blog, i had a lot to say. it all began with this post here . i wrote about bicycling while pregnant, pink bicycles, bicycle baby onesies, and more. and then life happened. i had a baby, the mr. got a new job, i quit my job, and i could go on. the blog went from the desire of posting every day, to being lucky to post once a month. and so i will try again. hopefully with a little success.

this weekend we had some family photos taken. it was quite the brisk fall morning. baby e. was amazing through it all.

oh lovely weekend

this little family had quite the lovely weekend. we went out on the town and spoiled ourselves with sushi one evening. then, we joined some friends for a hayrack ride to a local apple orchard. i plan to enjoy this beautiful autumn weather as much as i possibly can!

i am still learning at this mommy business, but i have found that you just learn to adjust and you just do what you have to do. the hubs and i just love being out in our community and going out and about. and, i suppose that is exactly what we want to show our little one. i found myself nursing underneath an apple tree, on a park bench, in a corner booth at a restaurant, and inside a clothing store dressing room (the least luxurious). i do wonder where the most interesting place is a woman has nursed her baby. and, i have found that a public restroom is the least appealing.

we plan to take our little pumpkin to visit a local pumpkin patch this evening. i haven't even ever been to a pumpkin patch! so exciting!!

horsey-bike...

and why wouldn't you want to turn your bike into a horse??

finding the words to say

i've been meaning to update, i really have. it seems that if it isn't finding the time, it's finding the words. this little baby love has completely mesmerized me. really, though, i think i could just sit and stare at her all day long. but, life must go on, right? small steps is what i keep telling myself. brushing your teeth before noon is indeed an accomplishment for the day! i truly have a new admiration for all mothers of the world. they not only birthed a child, but raised that child....seriously amazing after going through it yourself. i would love to share our birth story. i can confess that reading birth story after birth story was a guilty pleasure of mine while pregnant. i would put myself in that woman's place and attempt to imagine the emotions she was going through. so, naturally, i would love to provide that for others.

six weeks has come and gone and this little lady is growing up before my very eyes....baby E loves showing off her smiles, cooing happily to all who will listen, and enjoying the lovely autumn weather. she also been building her neck muscles and wants to hold up her head by herself oh so badly! i just love seeing how her little personality shines through a little more each day. we are so very blessed to have such a beautiful, healthy baby.

attempted distractions

i broke out the sewing machine today. this amount of dust can seriously not be a good thing. gross! i've got this baby shiney as new and we are ready to get started now. i was just thinking i was putting off starting this project as the baby was 'expected any day now' for the past 4 weeks! ha!!
we are still holding strong at 41 weeks today. no progression in sight, really. i swear, i don't know how there is much more room in there for this little one. i am so very thankful for this time and all of the support and encouragement from those around me. baby, there is a lot of love in this world for you. now, little one, we are anxiously waiting your grand appearance.

a little something for myself

so....i just splurged on a gift to myself. it's ok to buy something just for you every once in a while, right?? to tell you the truth...i have been pondering doing this for over a month! and, i'm pretty for sure registration is supposed to be over....but the 'buy now' button is still up...so, i finally finally finally decided to just break down and do it. just for me. long story short, i was given a sewing machine as a gift 3 years ago. it was something i really wanted to learn at the time. but, guess what? life happened. although i have used the extra needles and thread that came with it, i never have actually even put the thing together. sad, i know. so this is it! the motivation i need and the accountability to do it. i can't wait to be a crafty momma and make all kinds of....crafty things? :) next project? find lots of cute cute fabric!! oh, and dust off the sewing machine.
by the way, thank you rachel, leigh-ann, and courtney for making this happen! i'm seriously looking forward to it.

baby on the brain

little E's expected arrival is just days away now. 4 to be exact. i found myself searching for a video this morning that i had watched a couple of months ago. i had periodically followed the walk to 40 weeks , but this birthing video seriously topped it off. this couple is truly amazing.

now, while in search of this video, i came across she's got the magic . and can i just say, thank you pacing the panic room for making my day. i'm pretty sure i had a mental break down this morning. i didn't want to go to work simply because i had absolutely nothing to wear. so silly now, but so incredibly life altering at the time. ha. really, though, this stop motion video is simply perfect and adorable and just what i needed today. this man is doing amazing things and if you haven't checked out his work, you could start out with the links i've provided. seriously incredible stuff.

simple goals

via the Miss Elsie Flannigan...

the task? create 4 simple goals that you may not have otherwise accomplished. an easy enough mission, right? not so much here. i have notebooks and sticky notes filled with to-do lists, life goals, etc. from every season of life. they have been read, re-read, and stashed away for another day. most never being carried out. so, here i will post these 4 simple goals of mine for all of the world to see, to keep me accountable, and in hopes that i can learn to actually follow through these goals of mine.

numero uno: make an effort to blog once a day. or at least an average of seven blogs a week. if this whole 'documenting my family's life' thing is going to follow through, i need to be much more purposeful in my blogging strategies

number 2: organize my life. turn my home into a sanctuary and my work space into a haven for energy and inspiration. i would love to invest a little bit of time each day and make a strategic plan to get rid of clutter and find a space for everything in our little home.

three: schedule a work out time into my day. with baby e arriving shortly, i feel like it will be extremely important to find 'me' time. excercise time would be a perfect opportunity for this. besides that fact that i feel much less stressed and energized when i make this intentional.

and, finally, 4: make time for financing and meal planning once a week. possibly sunday evenings. and include the hubby. these are two categories that we have realized our family needs to be purposeful about. the thing is, it is too easy to overlook them and just go about our daily lives. so, the thinking is that if we spend just a little quality time looking over financing and scheduling a weekly meal plan, we can be on the same page and have less disagreements about silly things.

turner falls

passing through oklahoma last week, we stopped at this little hidden jem. a natural swimming pool had been formed at some time from multiple springs of the arbuckle mountain region to create this lovely area. maybe next time we visit we will go down into the park to go for a swim!

i don't know any of the history about this magical castle located near the falls, but it did appear that you could hike up to view it closer if you actually entered the park area.

such a fun place to find. thanks to our lovely friends for showing us! i'm currently dreaming of our next little mini vacation. possibly a first vacation with baby e?!

preggo cycling

Cycling is a love, a passion, a hobby, an obsession maybe?

A new look for cyclists everywhere, right?? I have been commuting around town and even going on a few short road rides all throughout pregnancy, but I was getting really tired of missing out on the Sunday afternoon group rides. Finally, I figured I could just ride out to the trails to meet up with the group, even if it was just to hang out. The group took a couple of laps while I just layed out and enjoyed the afternoon. Afterwards, I talked the boy into joining me on the road for a bit farther. We randomly came across Toad Hollow, a daylily farm. And, it just so happened to be prime time for daylilies!

Love spending time with this boy, especially on a bike. Can't wait to take baby E on our bike adventures!

so so cute!

maybe baby e needs this. what do you think?? found here.

cloverleaf

during our recent adventures, some friends introduced us to a little shop called the cloverleaf. wow! i live for places like this. it was really like finding some sort of fantasy land. the owner appears to be absolutely in love with pink. if you look closely, you can see her pink escalade parked in the front. and oh yes, there were hot pink leather seats inside. the pink retro camper is so so adorable. i peeked inside to find that it is unfurnished for the time being, but did have leopard print carpet! and...how could you miss all of the pink bicycles!! the store includes fabulous designer clothing, various unique home decor, and lots of jewelry. not to mention a pink parrot and a pink poodle. apparently i became obsessed with the mannequins. ha! enjoy!

the anniversary

the hubby and i celebrated the big 3 this past week. life is pretty crazy around here these days it seems, so we resolved in keeping it low key. it turned out to be one of the best nights ever...

we started out with a lovely bicycle ride to one of our favorite hamburger joints in town.

we ended the evening with jazz downtown. such a perfect way to spend the occasion. happy anniversary, lover face. i couldn't imagine dreaming these dreams with anyone else.

something i've been meaning to do...

hello there world. i have thought about creating a blog for quite some time now. and, today is the day. my intentions are to share life with friends and family on a more regular basis, in addition to doing a better job at documenting life. it is my wish that i can look back at this place to remember the little things. it seems to me that it truly is the little things that add up to who we are. on that note, welcome to my little blogspot.

until next time....
